Aretha E. Hamlin is a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner. Aretha goes out of her way to treat each patient with empathy, flexibility, and good listening skills. She draws from a breadth of knowledge to provide guidance and support in managing mental health issues. Her goal is to build relationships with patients to help improve their quality of life. Aretha uses cognitive behavioral therapy to provide medication management and person-centered therapy. She’s skilled at carrying out mental health assessments, diagnosing psychiatric illnesses, and educating the patient and their family on treatment options. Aretha has been working with patients since 2021, treating concerns including ADHD, anxiety, coping skills, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sleep disorders, stress, and mood disorders. Outside of work, Aretha enjoys watching movies, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite ice cream flavors are vanilla and strawberry. Aretha enjoys working with SohoMD because of the comfort and convenience that teletherapy provides.

Angeli Pemberton is a licensed mental health coun-selor. Angeli’s approach is warm, compassionate, andpatient-centered. This DBT-informed therapist helpspatients become more empowered by teachingthem skills to manage their emotions and increasemindfulness. Angeli works especially well with indi-viduals who may not have felt safe, loved, or validatedin their relationships in the past. Her background intreating patients provides her with a unique frame-work that helps her guide individuals in exploringtheir issues’ root causes.
Angeli treats patients ages 18-55. She specializes intreating depression, anxiety, self-esteem challenges,relationship issues, and stress related to life transi-tions (career changes, parenting challenges, divorce,etc.). Angeli uses a psychodynamic approach to helppatients explore their past and gain self-awarenesswhen needed. She also uses solution-focused,strengths-based, and cognitive-behavioral therapyapproaches to alleviate symptoms. In her spare time,Angeli loves to write and play music. She grew up inTrinidad and Tobago.
