About Brittany
Brittany Barber is a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner. Brittany’s goal is to provide excellent care to individuals suffering from mental illnesses that negatively impact their quality of life. Together, she works with patients to target the symptoms causing them distress and uses evidence-based practices to develop treatments plan that improves their quality of life. She provides medication management and supportive therapy to help patients navigate difficult life transitions. By helping patients identify the symptoms causing the most negative impact on their lives, Brittany’s treatment plans are directed toward alleviating symptoms, rather than just treating diagnoses. She aims to connect with her patients so they feel supported through difficult times. As a provider, Brittany is invested in her patients’ overall well-being. Because of this, she strives to be responsive to every patient’s needs, making changes as their needs evolve over time. Sometimes, patients need time to process life transitions. Brittany allows for that time during sessions as much as possible. Brittany uses client-centered therapies, coaching, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapies to meet her patients’ needs. She is comfortable working with adults aged 18-65 and has worked with patients since 2013. She treats ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, self-esteem problems, sleep issues, stress, trauma, gender issues, mood disorders, and more. Outside of work, Brittany enjoys crafting, painting, crocheting, yoga, gardening, and going on RV road trips with her 3 sons. She is fluent in English and Turkish. Brittany enjoys working at SohoMD because of its genuine investment in patients’ well-being. She loves the teamwork approach to mental health services and the ability to be present in her family life while pursuing her passion for providing therapy.
