Peg M. Schanne is a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner. Peg approaches each patient interaction with compassion, knowledge, active listening, and openness. She sees herself as her patients' teammate, working together to provide better mental health outcomes. She believes in using a combination of therapy and medication for most patients. Peg seeks to understand each patient’s needs and symptoms to determine if medication is necessary and what therapy approaches can help. Her ultimate goal is to connect with patients to help them feel better. She uses a combination of medication and CBT, DBT, EMDR, and other therapy techniques to achieve the best outcomes. Peg treats depression, anxiety, ADHD, personality disorders, and PTSD. She specializes in trauma-informed care. Outside of work, Peg enjoys yoga, tai chi, playing the piano, and learning Spanish. Peg enjoys working with SohoMD because of the flexibility and support it offers to providers so that they can, in turn, provide the best care to their patients.
