Shahruma Islam is a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner. Shahruma provides medication management and talk therapy with a personable, compassionate, and open-minded touch. Mental health symptoms can make daily life challenging or even overwhelming. Shahruma helps her patients manage symptoms, prevent relapses, and stick to a treatment plan so they can improve their quality of life. She also cares deeply about educating her patients and combating the stigma of seeking mental health care.
Shahruma treats patients ages 18-60. She treats ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, self-esteem problems, sleep disorders, stress, trauma, PTSD, women’s issues, impulse and control disorders, and mood disorders. Outside of work, Shahruma loves spending time with her family. She loves going to the beach, reading novels, and cooking new cuisines. She speaks English and Bengali.

Medical Insurance Overview
Most of our providers are in-network with the following plans: Cigna, Meritain Health, Optum (Oscar, Oxford Health Plans, UnitedHealthcare) and Wellfleet. Fees for treatment vary depending on length of appointment and type of treatment received. Payment should be made at the time of the visit. We do accept all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA.
