About Nargus Harounzadeh
Nargus Harounzadeh is a PMHNP-BC who uses a mind-body approach to treat a range of mental health difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and attention difficulties. Certified in Yoga Therapy and plant-based nutrition, Nargus merges interdisciplinary techniques, including psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapy, CBT, and pharmacotherapy, to treat the whole person. Nargus not only prescribes medications, but also prescribes various forms of exercise to balance and meet the needs of her patients.
Nargus has experience treating adults and children in private and non-profit settings, including forensic settings. She is also a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) and is an attending NP at Bellevue Hospital. Nargus graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Philosophy, Politics, & Economics (PPE) and English. She later completed a post-baccalaureate in psychology at Hunter College and her PHMNP at Columbia University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at Columbia, researching the effects of cardiovascular exercise, HIIT, and yoga on aggression and anxiety.
