Ayanna is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals looking to overcome the effects of adversity and trauma. She treats a range of trauma and stressor-related disorders including developmental and complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and issues related to adjustment and life transitions. Ayanna also provides support to individuals struggling with depression and anxiety. She helps her clients to navigate interpersonal/relationship challenges, family conflict, parenting, self-esteem, and personal growth.
Ayanna has worked extensively with youth, families, and young adults within the foster care system, and through her graduate training, she provided individual therapy. In her work with clients, Ayanna incorporates methods from various interventions including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, play therapy, and narrative approaches to treatment. Ayanna uses an integrative and systemic approach rooted in the science of attachment and relational neuroscience. At the core of her work is the belief that a strong therapeutic connection is a foundation for successful treatment, allowing for personal growth, insight, and healing. Ayanna received a B.A. in Psychology and M.S.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. She resides in Queens, New York with her partner and a 14-year-old pup named Jamie.

Medical Insurance Overview
Most of our providers are in-network with the following plans: Cigna, Meritain Health, Optum (Oscar, Oxford Health Plans, UnitedHealthcare) and Wellfleet. Fees for treatment vary depending on length of appointment and type of treatment received. Payment should be made at the time of the visit. We do accept all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA.
