Veronna Dizon is a licensed clinical social worker. Veronna offers support and coping strategies for patients struggling to cope with stress, anxiety, life changes, career choices, and family and relationship struggles. She specializes in maternal mental health, treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and working with the AAPI and BIPOC communities. Veronna understands that many patients are struggling to make sense of the drastic changes in their lives that have taken place in a chaotic world. She helps patients discover new ways to respond to the messiness of life. Her goal is to instill confidence in her patients so they can assert their needs and effectively communicate and connect with others.
Veronna believes it’s important to tune into what her patients are feeling and to convey a sense of trust, compassion, and understanding. She sees herself as a guide, helping her patients reach their therapeutic goals. Veronna’s treatment approaches include a combination of person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and mindfulness techniques. Since she began working with patients in 2010, she’s gained a wealth of experience tailoring her approach to patients’ needs. When she’s not at work, Veronna loves to cook, bake, and try out new recipes. She also enjoys traveling, live music, theatre, sports, and volunteering. Veronna enjoys working with SohoMD because management genuinely cares about supporting patients and providers and seeks to welcome and support them.
