Milcah Valiente is a licensed clinical social worker. Milcah starts her work with each patient by fostering trust. Although there are a variety of reasons someone may seek mental health services, Milcah works with each patient to establish common goals to pursue through the therapeutic process. Her goal is to help create balance and physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being in her patients through trust and empathy. Milcah is trained in a variety of mental health treatment methods. Her work is based on several practice tools, including those from systems theory, developmental theory, attachment theory, and neuroscience.

Milcah has been providing therapy since 2012 and is comfortable working with adults of all ages. She treats ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, sleep issues, stress, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, perinatal concerns, and more. Outside of work, Milcah likes to paddleboard, bike, ski, backpack, sail, read, meditate, and practice yoga. She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer of Kenya. Milcah enjoys working at SohoMD because it’s accessible to most individuals, serves a diverse group of patients, offers flexible clinical hours, and lets her spend more time on her patients and less time doing administrative tasks.
