Stephanie Gemelli is a licensed mental health counselor. Stephanie’s therapeutic style is adaptable to each patient’s personality, ranging from warm, respectful, and direct to encouraging patients with comic relief. She prioritizes creating a safe, nonjudgmental space so patients from diverse backgrounds and experiences can build a life worth living. Stephanie has experience assisting patients with exploring their individual values, creating appropriate goals with a compassionate lens, identifying unhelpful beliefs and unhealthy behaviors, increasing their healthy coping skills, and identifying their strengths to improve their overall wellness.
She aims to provide a safe space where patients can increase self-awareness and build on their existing skill set as they improve their lives. Stephanie has been treating patients since 2019. She uses a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, solution brief focused, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy to meet patients’ needs. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading, drawing, painting, and going to the gym. One fun fact about her is that at one point in her life, she owned 12 gerbils! Stephanie enjoys working with SohoMD because of its diversity and the support it offers providers, so they can focus on helping their patients.

Medical Insurance Overview
Most of our providers are in-network with the following plans: Cigna, Meritain Health, Optum (Oscar, Oxford Health Plans, UnitedHealthcare) and Wellfleet. Fees for treatment vary depending on length of appointment and type of treatment received. Payment should be made at the time of the visit. We do accept all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA.
